Event Overview
Step away from the noise of daily life and into a space where your heart can rest in God’s presence. The Soil to Soul Retreat at Rock N Refuge is a gently guided weekend designed to support your emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being with an intentional focus on food, and how to prepare it for sustained health.
Hosted by Catie Haensler, Integrative Nutritional Health Coach, this retreat is an extended holistic cooking class about more than just following a recipe; it is an immersive experience that explores how food affects your body, mind, and energy. Instead of focusing on calories or dieting, this retreat emphasizes whole, unprocessed ingredients and the medicinal properties of what we eat.
What to Expect
Skill Building for All Levels: Beginners focus on foundational techniques like knife skills and nutrition basics, while seasoned cooks explore advanced flavor development, such as when to add acid or salt for depth.
Intuitive Cooking: Move away from rigid recipes toward "intuitive cooking," where you learn to trust your senses—tasting, touching, and smelling ingredients—to create balanced meals.
Garden-to-Table Connection: Many retreats include a field trip to the farmer’s market to talk to local farmers or gardeners and find out more about the benefits of their growing methods.
Shared "Council" & Connection: Beyond the stove, these weekends prioritize "conversational council" or sharing circles, allowing women to bond over their personal health journeys.
You will also experience:
• Nature walks across 300 acres of peaceful Tennessee countryside
• Time for rest, reflection, and quiet personal space
• Nourishing, wholesome meals
• A supportive community of women seeking clarity and renewal
Key Benefits
Sustainable Habits: Immersive environments remove everyday distractions and triggers, making it easier to cement new healthy habits.
Confidence Boost: Hands-on practice under expert guidance turns daunting tasks into manageable, life-long skills.
Creative Outlet: Cooking is reframed as a restorative hobby that reduces stress and fuels both the body and mind.
